Finally, the Muslim fashion industry is becoming recognized in the fashion sector internationally. Below we take a look at 6 Muslim fashion designers that are breaking into the world of fashion and making a name for themselves.
[caption id="attachment_1566" align="alignright" width="150"] Iman Aldebe[/caption]
First up, Iman Aldebe. Her turban pieces are what have gained her popularity among crowds. Crucially, she is more than merely designing; she is helping the image of Muslim women evolve. Her father is a retired Imam. As a result, she has continually had to fight against those that criticize women who are interested in fashion, make up and dare to have a career. Some would say that her turban designs that are displayed exclusively from Paris to New York should be enough to silence the critics.

Next up is Hana Tajima. She was born in the UK and raised in an artistic family. Throughout her childhood she was immersed in art and creativity, it's not surprising that she has done so well for herself in the fashion industry. Her work is a combination of modern trends and modest style. She illustrates that dressing modestly is achievable without looking dull or boring. She has collaborated with giants UNIQLO in Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore and Thailand.
Dian Pelangi is another outstanding fashion designer that deserves to be on our list. From a young age, she spent her time sketching dresses in her school notebooks. Her work is personal and reflects herself. She opts for vibrant, vivid colors and statement tie-dye pieces. Her work was showcased at the London Fashion Week and as a result even got interviewed by CNN.

Two more designers that are causing a stir are Hanadi Chehab and Howayda Moussa. They are creators of the successful Integrity label. They pride themselves on designing both evening and formal wear suitable, appealing and stylish for both Muslims and non-Muslims. They have achieved something that most struggle to do, and that's creating clothing that can be approved by faith and fashion. Their tagline 'faith-fashion-fusion' is on point.
[caption id="attachment_1569" align="alignleft" width="150"] Hikmat Saleh[/caption]
A male also makes it onto the list of extraordinary Muslim fashion designers – Hikmat Saleh. He started his career venture as a lawyer but shortly after realized he belonged in the world of fashion. Since choosing a career change, he has become the CEO of his fashion brand known as Hikmet Fashion. He is most commonly known in Baghdad for his elegantly designed dresses.
[caption id="attachment_1570" align="alignright" width="150"] Jenahara Nasution[/caption]
Last on our list is Jenahara Nasution, daughter of an Indonesian senior designer. She has entered the industry by starting up with a label of her own, named after herself. Her range is particularly unique and focuses on modernity and purity. Crucially, she was responsible for the massive increase in Muslim fashion in Indonesia because of her Indonesian Hijabers Community creations.
While only 6 are listed above, there are thousands of credible Muslim fashion designers across the globe. More Muslims are gaining the international recognition that they deserve in the fashion world. It's clear that the future looks bright for the Muslim fashion sector.
