If you're considering doing something different, or you're not sure how to spend time with your family during Eid this year, here are a few suggestions which you and your family might like to try.
Hotel vacation
Finding a great hotel which offers an excellent summer package, but is not too far from home could be a good idea. Hotels offer many facilities which both adults and children can enjoy and often include entertainment evenings and great dinners. So you can still enjoy your holiday without having to travel much at all.
Take a family road trip
Take a quiet road trip with your family and bring a packed lunch. You can go to a riverside nearby or even go to a waterpark and enjoy the sun at the poolside. If you're feeling more adventurous, you can always hike up into the mountains, have a splendid day and still be back home that same evening.
Visit a neighboring state or country
You can do this on a short flight of only a few hours and experience a complete change of scenery. Take a break and do some outdoor activities to explore the surroundings at the same time. Try some snorkeling or rock climbing, or just go out to a great viewing point for an evening picnic with the family.
Trip to the zoo
Taking the kids along for a day at the zoo is always a great way to relax. You can enjoy viewing and feeding the animals. Some even have holiday programs for the kids, so you can have a break for a while as well if you need to. Many zoos also have waterparks, and this is lots of fun for the whole family!

Desert Camp
The days may be a bit too hot in the desert, but the nights are lovely. When the desert cools down, it's perfect to go camping and have a family barbecue. Spend an evening in the wilderness with the family passing down some of your traditional stories and enjoying the night skies.
Take an Arabic course
Eid is a good opportunity to enroll in an Arabic course. It can help you understand Quran better.
Simply have an Eid lunch with your loved ones
If you're feeling like just relaxing and not going out at all, you can always just have a great meal with your friends and family, and enjoy each other's company.
