HALF OUR DEEN

About Me I am 44 years old and have been a revert for the last 10 years. I am born and bred in the UK my parents originate from west indies and therefore I have a medium skin tone. I am a mechanical engineer and usually work per contract which requires me to travel to different work locations which can be abroad for short periods but mostly within the UK. I am not career driven at all... in fact it means very little to me other than a halal source of income. Alhamdulilah I consider myself as a practicing Muslim with an Islamic thinking, by no means liberal or moderate rather what I mean is I try and stick to the Sharia. I am open minded and accept the differences in fiqh, i tend to default to the Hanafi Madhab as it’s the easiest in accessibility for me, though i'm not a staunch Hanafi. I find my passion is with gaining Islamic knowledge and worshipping my creator. I regularly attend lectures when possible and observe the daily salah and strive to implement Islam in all aspects of my life. I am 5ft 7” with a medium to slim build and try to keep active although I am not regularly at the gym. I have two young children, whom I visit on most weekends. What I am looking for? Someone practicing ie they pray the compulsory prayers regularly, dress modestly [minimum hijab and jilbab], have a general passion for learning the deen as well as all round family values. I am very partial to soft natured people.
