seeking an intelligent and down-to-earth companion

Some more about me… As a fairly shy person I find it a bit strange to write about myself for others to read but I would say I'm a down-to-earth person with an open-minded outlook and I enjoy exploring and reflecting on the subtleties in life - the light-hearted ones too! I get on well with everyone I meet and people tell me that I'm easy to talk to. My parents always encouraged me to have good character and lead an upright life with Islamic values at the centre. I'm interested in languages and enjoy discussions about all things literary, social and cultural - my mum calls me the 'arty-farty type'...I enjoy cooking, baking, reading classics, keeping up with current affairs and teaching the Arabic language. What am I looking for? I value honesty and good character very highly and I am looking for someone well educated with a similar outlook on life. Also I am seeking a partner who at the very least performs the Fard actions of Islam. My idea of a successful marriage is one where the couple are open with one another and support each other. I hope to explore my husband's passions and interests and be a considerate wife who is also a friend. For compatibility purposes I am seeking a partner who is also British and from a similar background.
